Dr Jelena Zeleskov Doric is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist trained in Europe and Australia. She brings comprehensive education and knowledge in psychology and psychotherapy. She completed her PhD in clinical psychology in Serbia and she was trained in experiential, humanistic and phenomenological Gestalt psychotherapy approach in Malta, Italy, Germany and Serbia. She also completed Master of Clinical Psychology in Australia.
Jelena worked as an academic in Europe and Australia including being a Discipline Lead and Senior Lecturer in Psychotherapy and Counselling (ACAP) in Sydney and a Lecturer in Psychology (Charles Darwin University) in Darwin. She is currently a Visiting Professor at American University of Cyprus (AUCY) and she continued with her writing and publication in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. She was a Vice President of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) for nine years before she relocated from Europe to Australia in 2016.
Jelena is registered as a clinical psychologist in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. She recently moved to Perth, Western Australia where she continued her clinical work and consults for Neurospine institute, Icon Cancer Centre in Perth and Sonic Health Plus.
She is passionate about resilience courses in children and adults, psychometric assessments in children and adults and academic teaching and research in psychotherapy field.
Jelena works from a holistic, phenomenological and humanistic framework of Gestalt Psychotherapy where the importance of relationships in clients’ life is explored together with integration of mental and physical health. She also implement components of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness approaches with clients. She is passionate about supporting clients to live the best of themselves and reach their maximum potential through overcoming life difficulties and expending their awareness about their life purpose.
